in the navy…

Kirsty

Navy and grey have been big favourites of mine of late. I seem to be drawn toward them and building up a collection of clothes in those tones.

When thinking of what to wear, I thought what better autumn look than putting an all navy look together. Plus when you add tan tones how can you go wrong!

I like experimenting with ,my outfits and this one paid off. My favourite quilted skirt (I seem to be living in!); my last season long cardi (love wardrobe shopping, plus it was perfect for winter last season) and my navy singlet (I can’t seem to get off); all combined to create this tonal, monochrome look.  Add in my new Wittner boots (I really shouldn’t have bought but it’s very hard when you get a $30 voucher plus 30% off!) with this beautiful Michael Kors bag (my sister-in-law gave me as a beautiful gift for helping with her wedding; I know spoilt right!) and it all seemed to work really well!

Bare legs may not happen for much longer as the weather really does seem to have turned colder as we approach winter but I’ll be trying as hard as I can until June is here!

Again I was lucky to work with the talented Christina (SkinnyGirlsJeans) who did such a great job at capturing some stunning images! She knows how to capture the moments and really does have an eye for fashion photography. You only have to see her Instagram page to see her talent. My favourite image is the autumn leaves on the white house! Really captures the season and is such a strong photograph!

i forgot i had that….

grey vest

I love it when you find a look on  Instagram or Pinterest and think, ‘I could do something similar, I forgot I had that!’

Or more to the point I forgot I bought that last season (when I had a big baby belly! 😉 ) let’s get it back out of the wardrobe.

That is exactly how this outfit happened! I saw a picture on Instagram last week of a lady in a long grey vest with black jeans and remembered I too had a long grey vest that I could wear! (It’s like shopping without spending money, I tell you!!) It was time to whip it out and experiment with a look.

Luckily the autumn weather has been not to cold yet so I was able to try something I wouldn’t normally. (Like I have said before, my style has changed since becoming a mum!)

A Saturday staple for me has always been jeans and a white tee (I always think of the Lana Del Ray song Blue Jeans when I say that) sorry back on track… I grabbed my new favourite colour grey vest and added it to my jeans and tee and was pretty happy with how the look turned out! I was then able to enjoy the beautiful sunny autumn day.

autumn is upon us

Geelong FAshionista

Autumn is upon us, summer has passed for another few months and boy am I going to miss it!
Hopefully the weather still stays alright for a little while so I can still head out for walks with little miss. But the cold is now in the air.
Days usually can stay ok but nights are chilly and noticing even more having to get up to feed!

Two of my favourite colours right now are  grey and white. It feels so fresh and takes away from a gloomy days, (I hate saying bye to summer so this keeps me happy with cold weather looming.)
I am loving putting together basics for my mummy days, especially when I’m not sure what I’m doing and that is exactly what this look was about. Comfortable pants and a warm jumper that can be dressed up if needed, or just simple for a quick coffee too.

The jumper was a great find from Witchery. It’s warm, perfect for winter and has the fun pirate detail at the front. I loved the colour and know it’s going to become a staple in my wardrobe!

It’s that time of year where I never know exactly which way to dress. Do I go all out winter or do I try and hold on to some elements of autumn. I guess it’s only a couple days until we offically call it Winter!

I went to Queensland over the weekend, and I learnt that Dad’s do not take photos! As much as I enjoyed the holiday with my dad visiting my grandparents, none of them would take a picture for me, hence no post on Monday.

I love wearing yellow when it is cold for a pop of sunshine and paired it with my otherwise dull coloured outfit. I am loving that this dress is turning out to be so transeasonal!
Do you like wearing colour to make you feel better?

Paris Jacket

I am currently on a mini holiday in “sunny” Queensland. I say “sunny” as today it has rained all day! That hasn’t stopped me enjoying my time with my grandparents and a day off work!

These photos were taken Wednesday morning and the sunrise was magic! It was such a beautiful morning that I had to include photos of Geelong and the sun rising over the waterfront, which is beautiful!

This jacket I have had for several years now, yet I still love it to bits, especially since I brought it in Paris! (one of my favourite cities)

clashing prints

grey jacket

I have wanted to try clashing prints, but never really worked out what to clash… until I brought my new jumper and remembered I had this skirt!

The sun was casting shadows this day, so it is hard to see my face! I also kept looking down as the sun was in my eyes!

As much as I am loving this jumper, it pulls really easily and one must be extremely careful when anythings near it!

Does this outfit work?

 Zu Shoes

This is what I wore for casual Friday, after reading Rachel’s Lookbook the other day about jeans on to work, I decided jeans were fine to wear to work! I had to pair the look with my black hat as I’m in love with it at the moment, and I finally get to wear it in this weather!

I wanted to put fun socks in the gaps of my boots for something different. I think the sparkles worked with the sparkles in my jumper.

sparkle socks

As much as I love the colour of these jeans they aren’t the best quality. They stretch really quickly and look baggy, and you can really tell in these photos. Don’t you hate when a pair of jeans stretch way to much as soon as you put them on?

Cold weather

Yay for the weekend!

This is a quick Friday post. In stark contrast to my last post; I am well and truly rugged up for the cold weather here!

I wanted to pair the black and white with a bit of colour, so added my magenta beads and colourful scarf to the black and white.

All of the photos you’ll notice that I’m looking to the side…. it was the only way to stop the wind making my hair go crazy!

Hope you all too are looking forward to the weekend!
