exploring perth

Kings Park

Andrew and I decided we needed a break after a very big few months and have packed our bags and headed to Perth for a week of relaxation.

It was actually funny as we debated long and hard where to go and after lots of back and forth decided we hadn’t been to Perth, and having the added bonus of having friends here that we would come visit for a week.

While I plan on not doing much and relaxing (hopefully thawing out from the cold) I did want to explore and see some of the sights of Perth.

We headed to Kings Park as I’d heard some wonderful things; and people weren’t wrong. Beautiful City views of Perth CBD, the swan river plus plenty to see and do in the park. I really enjoyed exploring.

It was nice not to have a big coat on or even a scarf, although we did receive some rain but still it was great not to be cold! Still finding stripes are following me and I love showing off the bump now and embracing my changing shape. I guess now I’m over the halfway mark I am going to see lots of growth!!

stripes, stripes stripes

baby bump

I’ve reached the point where I need a few more maternity clothes. I can no longer wear the few things in my wardrobe that are starting to feel like a uniform! (I like options!)

So today I went for a quick browse in my lunch break to see what was at the local shops and anything that seemed appealing (stretchy). It was all stripes… Stripe tops, stripe dresses, stripes stripes stripes. Have I missed a memo or is this the only stretchy fabric around? I was on the hunt for some cute dresses and I am happy to wear stripes but I guess I just needed some more options…

I went into about 5 different shops (I shopped quickly too) but everything that could work to grow with the bump was stripes and I started to think people would question me if I continued to only wear them. I swear my office must currently think I only own five outfits, however not everything I own is stripes…yet! I do love a strip and I’m not unhappy about it, but couldn’t believe what I found… I actually have an amazing purple stripe dress I cant wait to show you on my next post. I decided to show you some of the options I found below.

I also wanted to ask you all a question… Where have people bought their maternity clothes? Without spending a lot of money (I’m all for a few pieces that are expensive but I’m currently looking for basics..)

Have you too noticed all the stripes around??

winter sunshine

baby bump

What a beautiful winter day we had on Sunday. It was still cold but the sun was shinning and you need that this time of year to thaw out the bones!

I have reached the halfway mark with the bump and have now realised my wardrobe needs to be altered. The “stretchy” stuff is becoming my new best friend. Although I am excited to say that I can still do up my jeans! (yay for low risers ) but not sure how much longer that will last. Some of my favourite pieces are going to have to stay in my wardrobe and will entice me back in a few months time!

When I wear dark clothes I do try to pop some sort of colour with the outfit. Whether that be my coat, or a scarf and in this case was my trusty mustard beanie. Although the sun was shinning yesterday it was still crisp and the need for layers was a big requirement.

I still very much plan on keeping the fashion focus on the blog, however you will need to bear with me as I alter to maternity wear for a little while! I hope you don’t mind!

I’d love to hear your tips on maternity wear if you have any!
