wardrobe rut

In the past week I have gone to my wardrobe and decided I don’t like 75% of it anymore….

Leather jacket

Have I changed my tastes?
Is it because I’m sick of everything?
Could it be that I’m back at work?
Could it be this awful weather we having that hasn’t allowed me to get into my favourite season dressing (I LOVE summer!)?
Or if I think about it I haven’t bought much and worn the same things over and over> First pregnant, then breastfeeding and home with baby girl.

I’m in a wardrobe rut!

How do I get out…
I don’t have money to be buying a whole new wardrobe! Plus I hate getting rid of mine when I know there are some great pieces in there that still could get lots of wear.. but I’ve just had enough of it all.

No wonder so many people have giant wardrobes! I would love to keep everything but I don’t have the space either.
Plus I try to live within my means, not buying excessive and you do need somewhere to put it all!

I’m back at work, working part-time; this means I get a part-time wage (gasp!) plus I need to clothe my little girl too! Which again means I can’t just go spend all my money!

Over the past 12 months I have done a really good job of only buying pieces that work with a large percentage of my wardrobe.  I’ve also culled soooo much of it and have sitting in bags… I think someone would still get so much wear out of what I have… I really need to get them moving!

A big part of it has to do with the weather too. It has been awful! This time last year spring was here and we were having beautiful days. This year I can’t seem to put winter away and I don’t think that helping my issues either!

So the question is how do I get out of this wardrobe rut?
How do I breathe life back into what I have as really there are some amazing pieces in there that are still perfect for day-to-day living!

terindah estate

Geelong

A few weekends ago now we headed to Terindah Estate, a beautiful winery on the Bellarine Peninsula.

We went for breakfast on an amazing morning with the sun shining and great company. I had the breakfast trifle which was delicious and the best part was it did not include sultanas!! I really can’t stand those things, and usually don’t get to enjoy a yummy muesli or granola as they seem to always include the little brown things! This one had yoghurt and berries and just made the morning even better.

Andrew and I went exploring the grounds and snapped a few photos as we looked around. It’s incredible looking over the ocean and seeing the vineyards. We both commented it would be an incredible wedding destination as view is amazing plus the buildings have the perfect vibe.

I went with comfort on this particular day due to the heat. I felt summer colours would be fun (plus I had forgotten I had this top!!). I have lived in my Senso sandals this summer, as they really are so comfortable plus look awesome! I look back at photos and they seem to be in so many of them but I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

Have you been to Terindah Estate? What did you think?

*this post is my own opinion and I was not approached by Terindah.

Flying Brick

Sportsgirl

Over the weekend we headed to Flying Brick Cider House for our friends birthday. I love how close it is to our house and how it showcases the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula.

Flying Brick opened recently, in November last year, and it is housed in such a beautiful building and set up. The design is so well delivered and it is a great place to be in with a wonderful vibe. With all the open windows and beautiful grass lawn it is a great way to enjoy a Saturday Afternoon.

We in fact headed to Flying Brick back in December last year for Andrew’s Christmas Party and the meals were delicious. If you do head down this way I highly recommend going to have a cider!

We are finally seeing the summer weather that I love and I thought I would take full advantage and wear a fun dress and of course my favourite sandals. We were sitting outside so I wanted to be sun smart with my hat (yes that I always wear!!) and really liked the black and white vibe I went with.
