wardrobe rut

In the past week I have gone to my wardrobe and decided I don’t like 75% of it anymore….

Leather jacket

Have I changed my tastes?
Is it because I’m sick of everything?
Could it be that I’m back at work?
Could it be this awful weather we having that hasn’t allowed me to get into my favourite season dressing (I LOVE summer!)?
Or if I think about it I haven’t bought much and worn the same things over and over> First pregnant, then breastfeeding and home with baby girl.

I’m in a wardrobe rut!

How do I get out…
I don’t have money to be buying a whole new wardrobe! Plus I hate getting rid of mine when I know there are some great pieces in there that still could get lots of wear.. but I’ve just had enough of it all.

No wonder so many people have giant wardrobes! I would love to keep everything but I don’t have the space either.
Plus I try to live within my means, not buying excessive and you do need somewhere to put it all!

I’m back at work, working part-time; this means I get a part-time wage (gasp!) plus I need to clothe my little girl too! Which again means I can’t just go spend all my money!

Over the past 12 months I have done a really good job of only buying pieces that work with a large percentage of my wardrobe.  I’ve also culled soooo much of it and have sitting in bags… I think someone would still get so much wear out of what I have… I really need to get them moving!

A big part of it has to do with the weather too. It has been awful! This time last year spring was here and we were having beautiful days. This year I can’t seem to put winter away and I don’t think that helping my issues either!

So the question is how do I get out of this wardrobe rut?
How do I breathe life back into what I have as really there are some amazing pieces in there that are still perfect for day-to-day living!

We can be heros

Last Tuesday evening I attended the VIP Opening of Ryder Loves Miller, Geelong’s newest boutique. This boutique is a beautiful children’s wear, homewares and furniture store located in East Geelong. With incredible children’s wear , beautiful prints, furniture and fun this store is set to have people flocking to the doors.

Bethany started Ryder love Miller as an online store and has now been successful enough to turn this into a retail store. The name derives from her two handsome boys Ryder and Miller. I loved meeting them on the night and even got a picture of Bethany with her youngest son Miller (see below).

The store is stocking cute Children brands such as Macaroon Kids (seen here), Rock Your Baby, Incy Interiors, Little Quarters (another Geelong brand), Fable Baby and more!

I wish Bethany all the very best and recommend if you live in Geelong to get down to the mum friendly store! You can also follow Ryder loves Miller on Facebook or Instagram.

April flashback

April has been and gone… That went quickly! Maybe because of all the holidays we had in there!
I’m not complaining it was great to have a nice break and enjoy Easter and time to eat and drink and be merry, but it’s now time to get back on the fit campaign! ha ha

casual weekend

Kirsty

We got to have a long weekend here in Geelong which is always nice and very welcome. Saturday I wore very casual for a nice girly day of pampering.

I love this top the colour is so much fun and with my fav jeans I felt like it was a great combo.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

festive season

Geelong

I always find this week so busy! As mentioned it’s birthday week but it’s also almost Christmas so everything is on and happening.

We had Andrew’s Christmas party last week and I felt like been bright so went with this number. Like Vogue Vandal mentions on her blog I find the fit and flare skirt is super flattering for those girls with curves.

I love the bright pop of pink with the black and paired it with brown for my accessories.

???????????????????????????????

For the last week I’ve been enjoying Sunny Queensland while visiting my grandparents. I didn’t want to leave as the weather has been amazing,  not so much back home!

I picked this dress up at a little boutique in Geelong and I think I’ll be living in it over summer (if it comes to Victoria!)

I hope everyone has had a great and fun weekend! I know we did.

On a bright sunny day what better place to take some photos then Barwon Heads. We are so lucky in the fact that this is home.

I am loving this skirt and as mentioned before it really is going to be a big staple in my summer wardrobe.

I felt like wearing flats instead of heels today but I think they work.

October Flashback

November… really? Maybe it doesn’t feel like November as our weather isn’t improving! Fingers crossed the sunshine comes for good this month!

I have been living in a black hole with the internet and it’s driving me mad! I think it’s time for an upgrade!

Here are my October looks…

Which was your favourite?

its all about the details

Melbourne turned on the weather over the weekend, with two beautiful days. However that all changed this week, and it’s been horrible. I hope our rain reaches NSW to help with the bushfires happening up there.

I’ve been on the hunt for a black maxi as I figure it goes with everything and suits any occasion. When I found this one I got very excited as I loved the shape (and the fact it fits in length!) and the back was what won it over for me. It was so different to any I had seen and would do the job of suiting any occasion. I’ve discovered a shop in my favourite Geelong strip Pakington Street, called Unique. They stock a variety of brands for all ages but have the eye for finding great pieces.

What do you think of the maxi?

Last week I attended my friend’s art exhibition for her final year at Uni. It was fantastic and fascinating to see what the students had created. To check out more on the art you can read Artin Geelong’s Blog.

This is my new Witchery skirt, which will become my work staple for the summer. I loved the asymmetric lines and the coated edges.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
