i’m not a shirt person

Good Morning

I’m not a shirt person (normally!) There is something about collars that annoy me. I don’t know what it is but I prefer either collarless or just skip the shirt altogether. Same goes for turtle necks. I don’t do these at all and don’t own any. They make me feel trapped or something, yet I love a good scarf.

I do own a chambray shirt and on this particular day decided to wear it and try out preppy style. I’ve seen a few people out and about of late with variations of this style and thought I’d put my own stamp and twist on the style, making it more “Kirsty”.

I love the way this outfit worked out and think maybe I should be a shirt person. Perhaps I should consider buying more and working them in with my outfits, this worked well and the collar didn’t feel like it was suffocating me. I even added a scarf for some warmth in the morning.

I had fun taking these photos and started dancing around which Andrew captured well! The sun was rising over beautiful Geelong and makes you smile at how lucky we are to live in this place!

What do you think of my style?

weekend stylin’ in khaki

Ocean Grove

I’m very lucky where I live in beautiful Ocean Grove; and one of my favourite things to do on the weekend is going for walks down our main street. This was a simple outfit I had on for the weekend, in a colour I never thought I would have a lot of! As I got dressed I remembered I had a khaki jacket in my wardrobe. I love when you find these pieces; it’s like buying mew clothes!

As we walked down the streets there were no cars, but as soon as we got the camera out they seemed to come in the dozens, not that it takes away from the images and Andrew had fun playing around with the end result.

I have been having a really good explore of local places,  and as we walked down the main street it’s such a mixture of new and old places, some that could do with a good face lift! Maybe that is what makes it so unique and keeps its small town charm.

another winters day

Winter

What a weekend! Sometimes they just seem to be so busy as well as lots of fun!!

After a night out in Melbourne and a bit of a fuzzy head I got Andrew to get some snaps in the beautiful Carlton Gardens. Again a simple winters day outfit is what I’m most happy in on the weekends.

I love beanies to not only add some colour but also for the warmth! This one was a great find whilst in Tokyo last year.

Are you a beanie person? What are your favorites?

winter is here

Kirsty

Winter is here and it’s starting to get cold! Not my favorite time of year.. unless there is snow!

I shouldn’t be too sad as I am going to beautiful sunshine in 25 sleeps! I’m heading off to Bali to replenish after my crazy period at work.

I’ve pulled out my jumpers, tights are back out and layering is now the key; especially when the office goes from hot to cold.

Are you a winter person?

silk pants, grey top and some leopard

Zara top

I like to pride myself on dressing in colour, but from the last few posts I have done I’m starting to worry that all I am wearing is black, white and grey!

I actually don’t know if I like this outfit… It could be that I just don’t really wear pants, or maybe the two just didn’t work together.
The pants are the most comfortable ever and I really love the grey jumper but just not sure about the combo together. Maybe it needed a statement necklace to give it a pop.

I still thought I would post the images as I’d love to hear your feedback on the outfit.

I have been in a black hole of no internet over the last week and it is sooo frustrating. Hence I’ve been a little quiet on here.

We are also renovating.. building a new kitchen which has also kept me extremely busy and outfits have not been blog-worthy!

These pants I have on are the most comfortable pants ever. They feel like pjs but still look classic and chic. They are silk and fit really well, coming in at the ankle and a sash at the waist. They are from Elm Knitwear and I’m so excited to show you more of their collection in the coming weeks.

On a bright sunny day what better place to take some photos then Barwon Heads. We are so lucky in the fact that this is home.

I am loving this skirt and as mentioned before it really is going to be a big staple in my summer wardrobe.

I felt like wearing flats instead of heels today but I think they work.

Saturday we had the most beautiful weather so Andrew and I decided to go and have a wine at Leura Park Winery. It’s one of our favourites as it has great atmosphere, great wine and it’s not far from our home. We are so lucky to live on the Bellarine!

After a beautiful sunshine day Saturday it went back to winter with horrible rain and cold all day long yesterday. I just want spring so I can maintain this tan! 🙂

I wanted to try a different look to my usual and was a bit daring by showing some skin. I was actually inspired by a work colleague to pull off this look.

Do you think it works?

green and black at msfw

I have to start off by saying these photos were all taken on my phone; so the quality is quite poor! Sometimes you need to sacrifice and I know for next time to make sure I bring someone to take photos and my camera!

I attend Runway #4 at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) and it was a great show! Some amazing pieces and inspiration to take away for Spring/Summer this year. I have even found a few designers I am going to be keeping my eye on!

I have included a few shots from the show but as mentioned the quality is low and doesn’t do the beautiful designers any justice!
