Beanie Love

On a bad hair day I like to make life easy and add a beanie or a hat or even a headband. It is not only a quick fix but a look that is fun as well.

I have learnt that sometimes there isn’t time to wash your hair, even to do a proper hairstyle as you need to be out of the door. This is how this look went down. We had to be out of the house by 9 am and the beanie was the solution. Although I do love them anyway to stay warm in winter and they look so good!

I seem to be wearing four/five colours on a regular basis of late, but I still love adding a pop of colour. (even if that colour is one I have been living in) This jacket was a favourite I bought two seasons ago but love that it still works and brings some bright life to my otherwise dark outfit. I love when that happens. You spend good money on a jacket and it still keeps working in with everything you own.  That is why you make sure you invest in key pieces as they really will last through the seasons!

Flats…. they seem to have become my new obsession and who would have thought. I see other bloggers living in heels and don’t know how they do it sometimes running after little people and my bubba not even walking yet! I am loving the change-up and will never lose my love for heels, but will always be practical, especially  when walking around our beautiful town with my little family.

i forgot i had that….

grey vest

I love it when you find a look on  Instagram or Pinterest and think, ‘I could do something similar, I forgot I had that!’

Or more to the point I forgot I bought that last season (when I had a big baby belly! 😉 ) let’s get it back out of the wardrobe.

That is exactly how this outfit happened! I saw a picture on Instagram last week of a lady in a long grey vest with black jeans and remembered I too had a long grey vest that I could wear! (It’s like shopping without spending money, I tell you!!) It was time to whip it out and experiment with a look.

Luckily the autumn weather has been not to cold yet so I was able to try something I wouldn’t normally. (Like I have said before, my style has changed since becoming a mum!)

A Saturday staple for me has always been jeans and a white tee (I always think of the Lana Del Ray song Blue Jeans when I say that) sorry back on track… I grabbed my new favourite colour grey vest and added it to my jeans and tee and was pretty happy with how the look turned out! I was then able to enjoy the beautiful sunny autumn day.

autumn is upon us

Geelong FAshionista

Autumn is upon us, summer has passed for another few months and boy am I going to miss it!
Hopefully the weather still stays alright for a little while so I can still head out for walks with little miss. But the cold is now in the air.
Days usually can stay ok but nights are chilly and noticing even more having to get up to feed!

Two of my favourite colours right now are  grey and white. It feels so fresh and takes away from a gloomy days, (I hate saying bye to summer so this keeps me happy with cold weather looming.)
I am loving putting together basics for my mummy days, especially when I’m not sure what I’m doing and that is exactly what this look was about. Comfortable pants and a warm jumper that can be dressed up if needed, or just simple for a quick coffee too.

The jumper was a great find from Witchery. It’s warm, perfect for winter and has the fun pirate detail at the front. I loved the colour and know it’s going to become a staple in my wardrobe!

I love hats!!! So it’s no surprise that I keep adding to my collection.

When I came across Ace of Something I got quite excited as they are a local Melbourne designer. This gave me more reason to buy one from them!

I couldn’t decide between colours but ended up going with dove grey. I figured at this stage it will go with more of my outfits. However I am still dreaming about the pink one too!

I added my hat to my simple weekend outfit as I had to try it out; I cant help myself when I get something new! I’m sure you’ll see it lots more in posts to come!

orange and grey

orange and grey

This outfit is one I wore to work this week. I am loving the grey and white peplum skirt and it always manages a comment or two when I have it on. I have been wearing the skirt with white and yellow of late but decided it was time to change it up a little and paired it with my orange blazer and heels, as well as a grey tee for a change.

It was a rather foggy and dull morning Tuesday before the beautiful sunshine came out; you can see the mist in the background! The colour of my orange heels isn’t as bright as in real life, but they are a lot of fun!
