spring is in the air

Spring is in the air

The weather is warming, the flowers are blooming… YES!! spring is in the air.

I love spring as the surrounds start to change; flowers are blooming, days get warmer and longer and summer is that much closer.

It means you can use much more of your wardrobe. Jackets are needed but they are taken off during the day! Boots can be worn but so to can open toe shoes. So much choice and variety, a fun change up from the cold rugged up weather. I love getting more wear out of my clothes and its when I start to see the gaps in my wardrobe as well as what I need to start saving for!

These khaki pants are going to become one of my basics for my work wardrobe (work time is getting closer for me to go back). They are so comfy and feel like I’m in pajamas! I was kindly gifted them by Surafina and was happy to receive as I am loving khaki. I paired with stripes and my updated essential blazer to create this look.

White and black work so well with khaki and really do allow for so many different options to change up the look. It’s so important to me to have pieces that can be so versatile but still worn like a uniform.

What is you favourite work essential?

summer playsuit

I have been looking for a playsuit for so long… I didn’t know what exactly I was looking for until this came across my computer screen!

And it was on sale! Oh the joy; I knew it needed to come live in my wardrobe! The lace detail and the cut out at the back was what caught my attention.

Yes, it is a little short, but I feel if you cover the top half why not show off the legs! One day I wont be able to so enjoy while I can I say!

What do you think of my playsuit?

The rain is back in Geelong. For the last week it’s been raining a fair bit; but on the upside you can feel the temperature is rising! Hopefully the good spring/summer weather is not too far off.

These photos were on the way to work the other morning; quickly getting a few snaps in between the rain! I don’t mind too much about the rain as I heading to Bali next week! Yay!!!! I don’t know what is more exciting, actually going to Bali or just not been at work after a crazy few months!

I love Bali for the pure reason of doing nothing, after several visits I don’t need to see anything! Just lying beside the pool reading magazines and enjoying the weather! Hopefully I’ll be able to blog a little while I’m away as well!

It’s Bright Pink Lipstick Day tomorrow, so make sure wear your brightest pink lippy or donate!

ripped jeans and a white top

Dotti top

I have just brought these jeans and I’m in love with them! I have looked for a great pair of jeans for a little while now. I kept trying boyfriend jeans, but they weren’t working for me. A friend suggested I try Bardot and it was great advice as I found these skinny ripped jeans, just the look I was after!

I had a day of running errands so decided a simple white top would complete the look.

I hope you all had wonderful weekends.

black and white stripes

Black and white

Looking at all the latest trends there are a lot of black and white stripes around.
I keep picking up black and white stripe jeans and putting them straight back down as I just dont think they are “me”

I went to good ol’ Kmart last week and was very happy to find this skirt (for only $8 mind you) and thought that is me and how I can get my fix of the black and white stripe.

What do you think?

silver, blue and a touch of black

asos dress

Life has been crazy of late! I have really missed this blog but sometimes you need to make sacrifices and in this case it was Geelong Fashionista!

I have just started a new position at work which I am really happy about, however it has meant I have got a lot busier! I have even been away on business, so photos haven’t happened much! This is when I need an assistant! ha ha

I have found an addiction of late and that addiction is ASOS. I am loving what I am finding. It started with the a bodycon dress (which I still have not worn) and now I have bought a couple more pieces… This dress I am quite happy with for work. It’s warm and can be dressed up or down, so I’m very happy with the result.

grey and black with a yellow jacket

Forever 21 jacket

It’s that time of year where I never know exactly which way to dress. Do I go all out winter or do I try and hold on to some elements of autumn. I guess it’s only a couple days until we offically call it Winter!

I went to Queensland over the weekend, and I learnt that Dad’s do not take photos! As much as I enjoyed the holiday with my dad visiting my grandparents, none of them would take a picture for me, hence no post on Monday.

I love wearing yellow when it is cold for a pop of sunshine and paired it with my otherwise dull coloured outfit. I am loving that this dress is turning out to be so transeasonal!
Do you like wearing colour to make you feel better?

Johnson's Park

What a crazy week it’s been for me so far, with so many events at work I’ve been run off my feet! For those of you that haven’t heard me say, I’m an event manager so at times my work gets very busy, I even had to work Sunday!

When my body tells me I’m doing too much, I’m one of those lucky people who gets cold sores on my lip. In the same spot every time and telling me to slow down or I’ll get sick. I’m hearing you body, I will slow down!

This whole outfit costs probably as much as my beautiful bag! It consists of all bargains I have found and put together. I’m rapt with this dress that I found at Kmart, it’s very trans-seasonal. I should have taken off my jacket to get a better look at how I paired it with the striped long sleeve top, next time! I call the boots by event ones as they are perfect for lots of running around and are super comfy, although I think it’s time for a new pair!

April was a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to a busy May.

Here is a recap of my outfits. Which one was your favourite for April?
