leopard fun in the sun

Kirsty

I have been a little quiet on the blog in the last week as I’m on holiday in Queensland. Not because I not taking photos; in fact I’m excited to be showing you these by my very talented friend Kiah! I’m enjoying some R&R, soaking up the vitamin D and seeing lots of family. I love it up here. It’s like a second home and I instantly feel like I can relax.

We are staying in Coolangatta and took these out the front of our accommodation at Greenmount Beach. It was such a sunny afternoon and Kiah grabbed the camera and we scouted a few spots to take some fun shots while I had these leopard shorts on.

I stumbled upon the shorts when I was shopping with my girlfriend Nic and knew I needed to get them for summer. I love animal print and as they are silk I thought they would be a great addition to my summer wardrobe as they can be dressed up or made more casual depending on shoes and tops. They were on the last chance rack at Sportsgirl so I’m guessing they sold very quickly but it’s easy to see why!

I love how much a hat can add to your outfit, so loving this straw hat from Ace of Something! It is perfect for summer days and especially when your hair is not sitting well from a day at the beach. I seem to be growing my hat collection at a fast rate, but one can never have to many hats right?

i’m not a shirt person

Good Morning

I’m not a shirt person (normally!) There is something about collars that annoy me. I don’t know what it is but I prefer either collarless or just skip the shirt altogether. Same goes for turtle necks. I don’t do these at all and don’t own any. They make me feel trapped or something, yet I love a good scarf.

I do own a chambray shirt and on this particular day decided to wear it and try out preppy style. I’ve seen a few people out and about of late with variations of this style and thought I’d put my own stamp and twist on the style, making it more “Kirsty”.

I love the way this outfit worked out and think maybe I should be a shirt person. Perhaps I should consider buying more and working them in with my outfits, this worked well and the collar didn’t feel like it was suffocating me. I even added a scarf for some warmth in the morning.

I had fun taking these photos and started dancing around which Andrew captured well! The sun was rising over beautiful Geelong and makes you smile at how lucky we are to live in this place!

What do you think of my style?
