shakuhachi and birthdays

KIrsty Birthday

Over a month ago now I had my birthday. I was extremely lucky to have one of my gifts as my friend Katie taking photos at my birthday party. She is an incredible photographer and of course a local Geelong girl. Do go check out her incredible work on her website.

Katie has a great way of capturing the moment and getting shots when you least expect it. Of course I also got her to capture some photos of my incredible dress.

I loved my dress, it was exactly what I was hoping for. I knew this Shakuhachi dress was the one as soon as I put it on. It had the perfect amount of fun and sexy but still looked sophisticated and elegant.

I had a theme for my party this year; New York. This lead to the inspiration behind my outfit Carrie Bradshaw, AKA Sex and the City! I love that show! I also was able to wear my incredible Manolo Blahnik heels. I put my own twist on the outfit of course as I like to have my own style, but she is one of the reasons I love fashion so much. I even got a custom head piece made to match my shoes from Lalka by Lisa Nash. She did such an incredible job and I loved what she created, now to wear it somewhere else!!

VAMFF Opening Night

Last Monday I was lucky enough to go to the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF). Andrew got me tickets for my birthday late last year, which was such a thoughtful gift!

I took along my bestie Nicole and not only did we get to see the opening runway by David Jones we also got to go into the VIP party and hear Kate Miller Heidke’s amazing voice. I even got to meet some fellow bloggers which really made my night.

I also found a pink jacket! I am in love with it and decided it was the perfect place to debut!
