Navy and tan

navy and tan
Geelong

What is it about navy and tan that gets me so excited?! I love the combination of the two colours together especially as we come out of winter.

All of a sudden life has got really busy with so many things on. I’m not complaining they are all very exciting but it’s as if something goes winter is over lets move onto busy warmer months!

It also makes me see that I really need to find a solution to me time. Some time to be alone and really work out exactly what I want and how I’m going to achieve it. Here I was thinking I had so much help and support to get this off the ground and don’t get me wrong I do but what I would give for 3-4 hours of uninterrupted me time would be incredible. I’m my own worst enemy though as I can’t bear to spend much time away from the cute thing that we created and she makes me laugh so much and fills my heart with so much joy. I’m really struggling with this back to work thing I think and need to remember that money is a must!  Someone has to help my shopping addiction!

Fashion is going to get me through the transition! Outfit planning on a budget and wearing fun exciting pieces; maybe even a heel every now and then! What I am looking forward to, is getting back into more of a routine and been really organised . I love having structure and I think it will help me to find the time to sit at the computer and write. This will lead to the dream of one day becoming a professional blogger!!

I ask this question to fellow mums… Do you get enough “me” time?

work life is looming

Work life is looming
Back to work
Ok don’t panic! Going back to work after maternity leave is getting closer.
One second ago I was saying goodbye to my work, about to head off on my biggest adventure. Here I am about to return twelve months later.

Am I ready? Is this what I want to be doing?
Adult conversation is going to be great and I love using my brain for ideas, but I am really ready to get back to work life?

My days with little Miss are incredible and I love them! She has so much personality and is so much fun to be around but there are days when I would love some me time.

It really has been an adventure for me and all expectations changed very quickly about what the year would be like. I’m happy I took a year and lucky to have had the support from Andrew to do so but it’s also left me with wonder about where I see myself in five years time for my career.

I have wanted Geelong Fashionista to grow and flourish and lucky for me in the last two months it has! The opportunities it has allowed me to achieve have been amazing, but I think I need to really focus on what and where I see it going… I keep bringing this up. It comes down to how am I going to bring in a wage? I write because of the love of sharing my thoughts and style, and to be a career I would need to bring income. Don’t get me wrong the perks are great and I am so lucky at the opportunities but that doesn’t pay the mortgage!

At least I get to bring back out my work wardrobe and get to wear heels again! Take this incredible white blouse I was gifted from Surafina. It’s going to be a perfect staple for work. I love pieces that will match so much of my wardrobe plus looks great on. I love the cut and really can wear it any season.

What are your go to essentials for work?

discover melbourne

Kirsty

I love how close Melbourne is from Geelong. It only takes a quick hour up the road to get to one of the best cities in the world where there is so much to discover. Don’t get me wrong I love Geelong and everything it has to offer, that’s why I live here in Ocean Grove but it’s so handy having Melbourne not so far away!

On the weekend I headed up to Melbourne to hang with my brother. We made no plans but decided to see where the day would take us. I did have a voucher I was wanting to use so we headed to Chaddy (Chadstone Shopping Centre) for a look around. Matt suggested I try the Oriental Tea House for lunch and I am so pleased he did. What amazing food they had and the tea was delicious. I highly recommend it and there are a few around!

We then decided to head to South Yarra to catch up with some more friends and ended up at Stables of Como! What an amazing place with so much to do in one spot. We wanted coffee and afternoon tea but once we had we went exploring and it was so nice to see incredible gardens. I then found out from our friends you are able to get picnic baskets with the delicious food they sell and go and enjoy in the amazing surrounds. Something I really want to go back and try!

These were a quick few shots I got my brother to take as we explored the grounds.

Have you discovered any good spots of late? In Geelong or Melbourne?

its a rainbow kind of day

Geelong Waterfront

I am currently obsessed with this colourful jacket of mine. I would actually love to be not wearing jackets anymore but for now this is the perfect spring addition.

It is so warm and I am getting lots of comments already a great purchase I think! These jeans have also become a big staple and I don’t know how I lived without them, a great find from a great shop in Pakington Street.

I’m on holiday at the moment in sunny Queensland, visiting my grandparents for our annual early Christmas celebration. It really is like my second home up here.
It was at this time last year that I started this fashion blog, which has gone so fast and I thrilled at how much it’s growing! Who knows, one day I may be able to do this as my career!

Lots of exciting posts to come and hope you all had wonderful weekends!

Last week I attended my friend’s art exhibition for her final year at Uni. It was fantastic and fascinating to see what the students had created. To check out more on the art you can read Artin Geelong’s Blog.

This is my new Witchery skirt, which will become my work staple for the summer. I loved the asymmetric lines and the coated edges.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Last Friday was the most beautiful morning after a lot of rain during the week plus I returned from sunshine in Bali!

I got Andrew to stop before work and grab some photos by Geelong’s Waterfront and I am thrilled with how the photos turned out. It really shows off Geelong’s beauty!

I love this jumper I picked up at Bardot’s end of season sale. The back was just so different!

What do you think of it?

sparkles, ripped jeans and a pop of pink

Kirsty

I seem to only capture my casual outfits of late. This could be due to how busy I am at work, but hopefully this will change in the next couple of weeks!

This was a weekend outfit I wore to do a few errands and I even got shellac for the first time! I have tiny nails, and they are so weak, so I am hoping this will help them grow.

I feel like a walking Westfield advertisement in this outfit with so many of the clothes from the shopping centre!

super casual

 Michael Kors

Today is a really quick post to let you all know I am around!

This is what I wore Saturday last week, on a very quiet low-key day, just what I needed!
I spent the day cleaning, watching movies and a supermarket shop. Relaxing!

I can’t believe the weekend is already here again!

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

He travelled around America and this is what I got as a gift! Yes, I am the most spoilt sister ever and so very lucky to have such a great bro!

This was my Saturday outfit and worked perfectly for all the jobs I needed to do!
