love want need

love want need

I always have a big love want need list… I don’t know if this is because I am a shopaholic or whether it’s just a thing every female has?!

Since viewing this grey jacket on Nadia Bartel last week I have been dreaming of the look.

Usually when I think about something that much its a sure sign I need to go out and buy! However I am not a big fan of buying things without trying them on. Especially at $250. I would want to ensure it fits and does look good on my figure! So with some saving time I plan on heading up to Melbourne (we don’t have french connection in Geelong) and try on this jacket to potentially bring home for autumn/winter.French Connection jacket

I also am in love with this beautiful marble look clutch. The detail is beautiful and I think it would go with so much in my wardrobe.

I don’t have a white one at present so I think it would get a lot of wear so that means I can buy it right?!

I have been looking for a neutral pair of pumps for work. I like the pink tone neutral pumps and don’t want a really big heel. These pumps are just what I need…. (need/want same right?!)

I love hats and I seem to want more and more every one I get! I have a real thing for pink at the moment and love this pink fedora. The perfect autumn hat and would look amazing with the whole outfit above!

strictly ballroom

Kirsty

Last week I had the privilege of going to see Strictly Ballroom (the musical) in Melbourne at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

It was SENSATIONAL! The colours, the music, the fun. What a brilliant performance and a very clever adaptation from screen to stage by Baz Luhrmann,

Strictly Ballroom has been adapted from the movie made back in 1992 into a stage show retelling the inspiring story of a ballroom dancer who challenges the rules to follow his heart and love for dance.

The shoe followed the loved film closely and used classic Australian humour with a little appropriate pathos in the storyline. Naturally, the dancing is spectacular – as are the costumes. The normally red plush seats of the theatre are now covered with a sea of pink, green, yellow and blue, to get you in the mood, and the stage curtain also shimmers in its red glory.

I highly recommend going and seeing for yourself. It makes you smile and will have you dancing on stage by the end!! It is a limited season so make sure you get there!

I wore my new favorite maxi skirt. It’s long so heels are a must and I love the detail on the skirt. Even though this black detail is see through, it makes me love it more! It was a little cool on the evening so I couldn’t get away with just the crop top, lucky I was able to borrow a cropped leather jacket to finish off my outfit.

Everydaystyle

I’ve been joining in with Styling You’s everyday style  over January to show what I have been wearing on a day to day basis (on instagram).

I thought I’d also share them here on Geelong Fashionista for you to have a look at some of my looks from the past month and see what you think of my style.

Although it is summer here in Geelong, we haven’t really had the traditional summer heat we normally experience. In fact it’s been a lot more like spring with sunny but mild days and cool nights. Hopefully next month we will see the summer heat as you know from all my other posts I LOVE the heat!!

It seems my sunnies have had a good workout as has my hat which I do love wearing, especially if you are having a bad hair day.

With most of January been holidays for me there is a lot of my casual wardrobe in here although the last few images are my work attire. Hopefully February will have lots of warm days!

brodie loves fashion

Brodie

My cousin Brodie has come down to Geelong for the school holidays and like me, Brodie loves fashion and showing off pretty clothes.

I decided rather than seeing me all the time to take some photos of her. Not only did Brodie enjoy getting her photo taken but it was really nice to be behind the camera. By no means do I want to get into photography as a career but I do enjoy capturing the moment and having fun taking photos to remember time and places. In fact in my younger years I was always known as the one that would have the camera in my hand capturing the memories.

It made me realize how much I want and would love to show more people and their style on my blog. I always created Geelong Fashionista with the intention to show street style and others creative flare but have never gone out and taken photos, although maybe unlike me most of my friends don’t want to be all over the bloggersphere! I am going to find the time to take photos of others and show you how much incredible style is around.

We went down to a spot I always enjoy going to get photos but once there we found we drove around a corner and found a new location I had never seen before; although a truck got in the way, we  turned another corner and found a great spot to take some fun photos. Brodie I think enjoyed showing off these beautiful Elm Knitwear designs and having fun in the beautiful spring sunshine.
