Flying Brick

Sportsgirl

Over the weekend we headed to Flying Brick Cider House for our friends birthday. I love how close it is to our house and how it showcases the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula.

Flying Brick opened recently, in November last year, and it is housed in such a beautiful building and set up. The design is so well delivered and it is a great place to be in with a wonderful vibe. With all the open windows and beautiful grass lawn it is a great way to enjoy a Saturday Afternoon.

We in fact headed to Flying Brick back in December last year for Andrew’s Christmas Party and the meals were delicious. If you do head down this way I highly recommend going to have a cider!

We are finally seeing the summer weather that I love and I thought I would take full advantage and wear a fun dress and of course my favourite sandals. We were sitting outside so I wanted to be sun smart with my hat (yes that I always wear!!) and really liked the black and white vibe I went with.

christmas party

Mister Zimi

A quick post today to show you the outfit I wore to my Christmas party yesterday. I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

I have worn this Mister Zimi dress a couple of times now, but decided to wear with a belt today and really happy with how it came together.

It is supposed to be summer but we can’t seem to get over 24 degrees this last week! But I have stuck to my word and not wearing tights! Boots have come back but tights are still on a ban!

The colours in this dress are so fun and I think it works for any season. I added my leather jacket for warmth, I had forgotten this was in the wardrobe! I love how leather doesn’t out date!

It was a great outfit for the Christmas party and worked perfectly for the day.

lazy chic

Relax

When given the prompt ‘lazy chic’ I had a really big think about how I would interrupt the look. The more I thought about it the more I went with my usual Sunday attire… Comfort! I was at home and ready to do the fruit and veggie shopping when I asked Andrew to take a couple of snaps.

This look is something I do wear a lot on weekends and seem to gravitate back to it time and time again. I wanted to think of something really different and fun. However the more I started thinking about my blog and what it stands for, (which is about my style) I decided to stick with something real and what I do wear every day. It’s not about coming up with magic shoots but I genuinely wear every day so stuck with the familiar.

Back to basics, back to what I do know and that’s my own style!

another winters day

Winter

What a weekend! Sometimes they just seem to be so busy as well as lots of fun!!

After a night out in Melbourne and a bit of a fuzzy head I got Andrew to get some snaps in the beautiful Carlton Gardens. Again a simple winters day outfit is what I’m most happy in on the weekends.

I love beanies to not only add some colour but also for the warmth! This one was a great find whilst in Tokyo last year.

Are you a beanie person? What are your favorites?

high tea at the langham

The Langham

On Sunday I headed to The Langham to indulge in their Chocolate Bar Afternoon Tea, also known as high tea!  It was a birthday present to my mother-in-law and my mum’s mothers day present. My two sister-in-laws came along too. A wonderful ladies afternoon.

Here are a few pics of the scrumptious food!

I was really happy with the outfit I choose to wear. Especially as the leather skirt was not to tight once I’d over indulged! 😉

I am still obsessed with this pink coat and so happy that I have now found a midi skirt that doesn’t look full length on me!

What do you think of my outfit?

i’m a shopaholic…

Pink

Hi my name is Kirsty and I’m a shopaholic. “Hi Kirsty!”

I have come to the realisation that I like to shop; A LOT and I seem to be purchasing a little too much at times.

I try and budget and only buy the things I really need, but when places like Country Road start stocking things I want need; I tend to spend money and purchase some great pieces!

That being said this top is my latest and was brought as a must have top for work and was the perfect top to go watch Geelong play, when in a corporate box over the weekend!

I admit I dont have a serious problem. I can show some self control but somehow I always convince myself its a must have.

Are you a shopaholic?

farewell daylight savings

 Weekend comfort

Daylight savings has ended in Australia  for now…  and I not sure how I feel about this.

1. I love summer, so now it feels over offically.
2. It means the cold is coming. This is something I not to keen on, BUT I do love the winter fashion around!
3. I did get an extra hour sleep in this morning which was something I REALLY needed this week.

The weather has still been pretty good though of late, which is a real positive. Last year it didn’t get really cold here until late June, so I hoping its the same this year!

I am in love with this Elm Cape, I just can’t get enough.
Do you have pieces of clothing like that?

VAMFF Opening Night

VAMFF

Last Monday I was lucky enough to go to the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF). Andrew got me tickets for my birthday late last year, which was such a thoughtful gift!

I took along my bestie Nicole and not only did we get to see the opening runway by David Jones we also got to go into the VIP party and hear Kate Miller Heidke’s amazing voice. I even got to meet some fellow bloggers which really made my night.

I also found a pink jacket! I am in love with it and decided it was the perfect place to debut!

world’s longest lunch attire

Michael Kors

On Friday I was lucky enough to go to the Geelong World’s Longest Lunch. It was held at Eastern Beach Reserve on a spectacular day; the view was amazing! Of course I didn’t bring my camera and the iPhone just didn’t do it justice. Andrew was kind enough to take these afterwards.
At the luncheon I was talking to someone who had just moved to Geelong and as they couldn’t believe what a beautiful place we live in! This makes me so happy and something I really want to explore more with Geelong Fashionista, to show everyone why Geelong is so special!

The dress code for the lunch was daytime elegance and as I had to work before hand I decided my LBD was the perfect outfit for the day. It was a delicious lunch with Geelong’s Finest preparing the food and great local beverages!

What do you think of my daytime elegance?
