stripes, stripes stripes

baby bump

I’ve reached the point where I need a few more maternity clothes. I can no longer wear the few things in my wardrobe that are starting to feel like a uniform! (I like options!)

So today I went for a quick browse in my lunch break to see what was at the local shops and anything that seemed appealing (stretchy). It was all stripes… Stripe tops, stripe dresses, stripes stripes stripes. Have I missed a memo or is this the only stretchy fabric around? I was on the hunt for some cute dresses and I am happy to wear stripes but I guess I just needed some more options…

I went into about 5 different shops (I shopped quickly too) but everything that could work to grow with the bump was stripes and I started to think people would question me if I continued to only wear them. I swear my office must currently think I only own five outfits, however not everything I own is stripes…yet! I do love a strip and I’m not unhappy about it, but couldn’t believe what I found… I actually have an amazing purple stripe dress I cant wait to show you on my next post. I decided to show you some of the options I found below.

I also wanted to ask you all a question… Where have people bought their maternity clothes? Without spending a lot of money (I’m all for a few pieces that are expensive but I’m currently looking for basics..)

Have you too noticed all the stripes around??

Andrew and I love exploring. Maybe that’s why we work so well together! While up in Newcastle we decided to go for a drive and see what was about.  Andrew is a big fan of architecture and saw a house he wanted to go check out. We are so glad we did as we came across an amazing piece of coastline. The houses on top of the hill had views of the coast both sides. It was an incredible spot with 360 views from their homes. Lucky for me I take the camera everywhere so was able to capture the beautiful background.

This top has come in so handy since I purchased. I love the cut and I seem to be addicted to anything navy at the moment! It also adds the stripe factor to my wardrobe which no one can ever have enough of! I paired it with a simple black skirt and as we weren’t going to get out and about had the trusty Havaianas on!  At least they too were black! This really does capture my everyday style as I’d put on a bit of bronzer and hadn’t even done my hair, but saltwater always makes a great wave!

  • black skirt; similar found here and here

stripes with neon

I had a great weekend and one of the fun activities I did was go out for lunch for my friend Courtney’s birthday to The Hill Winery. Amazing food and wine and I highly recommend to go give it a try! It was just a shame I had to drive!

This striped dress has been my go to of late. Its super comfy and can be dressed up or down. For a pop of colour I wore this great neon scarf to give it quite a pop.

I hope everyone is having a great week so far!

black and white stripes

Black and white

Looking at all the latest trends there are a lot of black and white stripes around.
I keep picking up black and white stripe jeans and putting them straight back down as I just dont think they are “me”

I went to good ol’ Kmart last week and was very happy to find this skirt (for only $8 mind you) and thought that is me and how I can get my fix of the black and white stripe.

What do you think?

We were little early to work on Monday so I asked Andrew to stop past Geelong’s Waterfront .

As we stopped to admire the surrounds I decided to grab some photos for the blog. At the time the light was quite cool as it was misty, but this doesn’t show in the photos.

I forgot I had this necklace until I was trying to match something to the skirt. It’s amazing how much stuff one can own!

This jumper is one of my latest additions. A sale item and one to begin the winter season which I am not looking forward to!

I’m all for cold weather if there is snow, but in Australia, unless you live on a mountain in two states;no snow in sight! And even the snow in Australia has nothing on Canada or Japan!

So to say I’m looking forward to the colder months is not true! Although I guess I can get excited for change of fashion, layering and coats can be fun.

This outfit was what I wore Easter Sunday. I painted my nails to have some fun with pastel colours for Easter. I really love this skirt, it was such a bargain, a little old now but love that it’s still in vogue; love those finds!

Hope everyone is having a great week!
